Work with Laramie!
How can I help you?
As an educator by passion and trade, I am always looking for ways to help more people.
Whether you need an academic coach to get you through the semester, someone to edit your writing, or a presentation prep session, I’m here to help!
To the students, I can offer…
#1: One-on-one presentation prep sessions where I help you put together and practice your next presentation.
#2: In-depth proofreading and editing of any writing project.
#3: Thesis coaching – from day one to your defense. I may not know anything about the neurology of a common NYC subway rat, but I know a thing or two about writing a great thesis or dissertation.
#4: Study tips (these are free and can be found on my blog!).
#5: Accountability and weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly check-ins. Access to academic support – all semester long.
#6: Anything else you may need as a student, such as balancing life and academics, applying for graduate school, or writing a rรฉsumรฉ (scary, I know).
To decide if academic coaching is right for you, I invite you to schedule a free consultation with me.
I know putting your hard-earned dollars towards academic coaching can be scary. That’s why I offer a free 30-minute Zoom consultation to all my potential coaching clients.
My Personal
Academic Journey
Four post-secondary degrees, six years, and a lifelong love of education.
Looking at me now, it might be hard to believe I almost didn’t go to college.
I was all set to go to Oklahoma State University for my freshman year. Two days before I was supposed to move two states away, I panicked and decided not to go. It was one week before most Fall sessions begin, and I had very limited options. I absolutely did not want to go to a community college, but my mom told me I either had to get a real job or sign up for community college classes.
I applied to Iowa Western Community College two days before class started. To my surprise, I loved it! Flash forward two years later, I transferred to the University of Nebraska at Omaha, where I eventually graduated with my bachelor’s degree (summa cum laude) and then my master’s degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice.
I wasn’t always the perfect student. Sometimes I skipped class, I didn’t always read, and I usually (if not always) procrastinated until the very last minute. But with a lot of dedication and some support from my classmates and teachers, I made it through.
Those teachers are the reason I do what I do today. They taught me how to write academic articles, how to give good presentations, and how to study for any test. Now it’s my turn to teach my students (and hopefully you) some skills that will carry you through college and beyond.
